DANIAL ZAHIRULHAQ

LIVE SOUND:

I am a student in Republic Polytechnic, pursuing my Diploma in Sonic Arts in the School of Technology for the Arts. In this course, i was given the chance to operate mixing boards for live sound such as the YAMAHA LS9 and the MACKIE ONYX. With real band setups, we are trained to troubleshoot problems that may arise in any live show. Through the knowledge that has been put in me, i decided to go freelance out in the industry. I started small with a company called UAV and Audio Resources. I have been on internship with Audio Resources for 16 weeks and it has definitely taught me alot and gave me more experience.  

 

After internship, I continued to do freelance with Audio Resources. A big thanks to my supervisor, Mr Edham AKA Eddie Amin for teaching me quite alot in being a sound crew and a sound engineer. 

 

PERFORMING ARTS:

Other than being behind the scenes of a show, I am also involved in being on stage, performing for the masses. I am a vocalist in a 5-Man band called Faraday. We are currently in the midst of releasing our EP so stay tuned! 

 

In Republic Polytechnic, I am an ambassador of an Interest Group called Replug, part of the CREATE Republic community, part of The Republic Cultural Centre. I am a vocalist, guitarist and percussionist in Replug, though my main forte is being a vocalist.

The modules that my course have prepared ignited an interest towards video in me. A module that i went through has made me interested in making short videos. Some of my work is up on my VIDEOS page. Do check it out! 

 

MUSIC:

My taste of music is more towards the modern Indie Rock/Post-rock genre where I can express myself more. However, my course in Republic Poly has taught me the importance of knowing and understanding the other genres and other music around the world to appreciate them. Being part of a band has put my music knowledge to good use.
